Yeah, one always needs to bear in mind that one of Guilliman's strengths is his willingness to adapt others' tactics and strategies into his own should they prove to be useful, especially if they reveal a blindspot in his tactics and strategies that he either didn't put much importance on or (somehow) had missed entirely. He even pointed out soon after his resurrection that the Codex Astartes was always meant to be an ever-evolving treatise, never to truly reach a "complete" state.
